DIY Wind-Friendly Mesh Awning Fabric

After the Bonneville microburst incident and repairs . Im looking into replacing the fabric on my awning with something a bit more.....
Wind friendly.

So I started taking apart the awning. Slid the keder rail welt out of the tracks.

Started sewing up new welt.

Slides in perfectly.

Picked me up a harbor freight black mesh tarp. Pic of sample material.
It's light and the breeze blows through it.

Will sew up the mesh tomorrow.

Mesh is sewn into the new welts. All finished.
Ready for Bonneville salflats test. 😎
The harbor freight mesh seems better quality than others .
