I’m about ready to skin my build with filon onto 1/4 luan. Can I use regular contact cements? Trying to read other threads here but each thread gets off topic without real clear answer.
I bought 46 feet by 8 foot roll of filon. My plan is to cut 3 sheets. One for the roof and one for each side. My camper is a tear drop 12 foot long by 6.4 feet tall. A standy. I don’t want seams, so I’m trying to do this in three pieces only.
Regular contact cement has 2 hour work time. The frp glue I see on Lowe’s site has 20 minute work time and needs to troweled. I’m also working vertical.

Contact cement may have 2 hours but usually once you've made contact, it's in the place. You have one shot.

Instincntly I believe the FRP adhesive will allow a little time to adjust but will also require more drying time before doing next piece

I don't know from personal experience. Contact cement seems fine for filon, which is fiberglass. I see it recommended on many RV sites. I don't think contact cement should be used for FRP.

Can You ask the filon manufacturer?
