After 20+ cargo trailer conversions a 3 frame up "standy" builds, I thought I'd try ma hand at a 5x8 square drop.I managed to find a 5x8 Ironton (Northern Tool) trailer brand new in the boxes on Marketplace for $ 450, so I grabbed it. I got he trailer assembled, deck built and insulated and now I'm ready to start the "cabin". I'm torn between PMF and FRP for the exterior, but the rest of it, I have semi figured out. I've never done a playlist on Youtube, so I thought I'd try it with this build. Here is a link to it if anyone is interested. (It's not professional by any means, so be prepared).

Started the PMF

It's too late for me now, since I've ordered what I need for epoxy/glass, but what do you reckon your total cost will be for PMF?

I have $65 in the canvas, $50 in glue (2 gallons of Titebond II) and $60 in paint. So $175. I didn't do the PMF because of cost, but because I wanted to try it and see how the process works.

2nd top coat is on. No video, just pics.

great build, what are you going to be towing with?

Any tips on keeping it light?
I'm not the guy you should ask about that. This is my first small camper build. I know the trailer itself weighs 270 lbs. My side walls are 3/4" plywood (it was free). The front wall and roof are 2x2 framing with a 1/8" plywood skin. The side doors will be the cut outs from the side walls. The rear hatch will be a 1 x4 frame with 1/8" inside and out. The exterior of the hatch will be PMF as well. I'm going to guess 1000 lbs +/-.
