Floor question for generic plan

I'm looking at the generic plan in PDF and have a question.

The first step is to have two sheets of wood 48" x 58.5" x .5" side by side.
Then to place the 8' X 1"x2" underneath the floor. However the diagram shows all the subfloor studs as being 1.5" wide.

If they are 1x2 how does that become 1.5" ?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm a beginer here.
Thank you

A 1x2 is actually 3/4"x 1 1/2" (the 1x2 dimension is before it's finished)

Same way a 2x4 is actually 1 1/2" x 3 1/2"

It doesn't have to be shaved.
Mario was right with his 1"x2".
When the shop or factory delivers the product, they speak always in terms of the rough product.
Greetings, Henk

I have never really bought any kind of wood so I was unaware of these particularities.

Hi Gang,

If I want a 5x8 floor, can I lay two 4x8's, cut down to 4x5 side by side (without scarfing), and just cover the seam with one of the 1x2's?

I just bought a 5' X 8' sheet of plywood and laid it in place. No joints to make that way.

My floor is 5x9 and I joined the 3 pieces by cutting a dado in the edge of the plywood and inserting a 1/4 inch spline the length of the dado all glued with titebond 3. After that all dried I cut some bowtie shaped pieces of 1/4 inch plywood and inlaid them at opposing angles so that there is no way they can pull apart
