Freezing Rain and Trailer Door

Good morning,
As most of the country is under some kind of severe weather I am curious to see if anyone has any tips to keep your side door from freezing shut. Typically, I can pry it open pretty easy but they are calling for several inches of freezing rain over the weekend and I am wondering if there is anything to put on door gasket to help it not freeze so easy.

I don't have any plans to stay in it during this weather but I do try to check on the heater every day to make sure everything is alright in trailer. Not worried about any thing freezing in trailer. Batteries have full charge right now and they have beehive heater pads to keep them warm using the battery power (600ah). BMS has function to shut down if too cold but if it gets that cold here there are more important problems I will need to deal with, ha!

Thoughts or ideas appreciated. :)

1) Thoroughly coat the door’s gaskets, hinges, and all contact surfaces with a water-resistant lubricant, like silicone grease/spray or automotive gasket lube.
2) Protect door’s lock and latch mechanisms with a similar water-repellant lube. A temporary flap of packaging tape may also help deflect freezing rain.
3) If you are expecting a unique weather freeze up, you could also circle the perimeter of the door (before closing) with Saran kitchen wrap as a temporary ice-break release surface.

My truck does this. So far this winter has been pretty tame or lame but I do have a can of silicone I'll spray on.

Like all of life: many things we must learn from our own mistakes, our own experiences. Some things we must learn from others, as there isn’t enough time to make every mistake ourselves. Let’s call it all — “experience, and wisdom”. _____ a 70+ elder. 😎
