Howdy all from Nebraska. I have been looking for the last couple of days at ideas to build some kind of little camper trailer myself and I keep ending up here and figured it's going to be useful so I should join.
A few days ago, we had some very severe winds and a large tree limb fell on and destroyed the roof of our 1993 Coleman Rio Grande popup camper. Sticks punched all the way through the roof in multiple places, and bent the roof in the middle, and crushed one corner down over the lower box of the camper.
It was not in amazing shape anyway, and we only paid $500 for it so it's not the end of the world, but it is disappointing.
But I think the trailer itself and frame and stuff may be OK still. I'll know more when I start tearing the camper off. But I'm hoping to maybe build a squaredrop camper or something like that on it if it's still good.
I'm sure I'll have lots of questions to ask here as I go, as I have no idea what I'm doing yet.
Excited though!
