Hi all, new to the group and just about to start the build of my first teardrop!! Its going to be towed behind our 1960 VW Kombi "Walter". Its a little different in a sense. As we sleep comfortably in the Kombi, the teardrop will have front and rear openings. The rear will be a conventional kitchen area, but the front will be for storage and also a toilet/shower. I plan on having a mount for your two electric bikes at the front. I am a CAD designer, and hobby fabricator so the plan is for it to be steel framed and clad in ACP.

Sounds like a plan.

Make sure you've got enough clearance on your bikes so you don't make contact while backing. You may find some inspiration with my bike rack.

The bikes sit above the tongue box and are far enough back they don't cause a problem while backing.

Good luck with your built,

Welcome. How will you attach the ACP to the steel frame?
I’m curious what kind of CAD you’re using.

Thanks! I plan on using panel bond for the ACP to frame. I am retired nowand use a very old version of Inventor I have had for years. It does what need :).
I’m an Architect- but focused on making art now. I did a lot of work in Autocad and Sketchup- plus hand drafting in the day.
If you start the build you can log it in the build journals forum on this site if that’s of interest. Cheers.

We are very similar, i started as a drafter on the drawing board too!! Yes I think I will start a build thread at some stage. Thanks for the link to yours, I will have a read :)
