Several of us are returning to Hunting Island SP, SC on the 10-14 of October 2013 for the 3rd or 4th time. Absolutely the best park on the coast. Check it out. We will be in the #140 site area. Posting this early as the place is hard to get in to at the last moment. Alan and Wanda

We went there for the first time last week (09/05/13) and it's a great park. I think October would be a better time of year because of the 'skeeters. Have fun, Bob

Hi Alan - This is the first posting for a gathering that I have seen in the Southeast since 2010. Am I looking in the wrong place or is there not much group activity? How many are you expecting in October? I am hoping to have my Teardrop on the road for its first trip that weekend and have planned a West Virginia fishing trip for the 16th to the 18th. If I can get it campable by then, I may try to start the trip with a stop at Hunting Island. I hear it is one of the best in the S.E. If I make a last minute decision am I likely to have a problem getting a camping spot?

The sites fill up fast but you might get lucky with a last minute cancellation. Someone posted there is another campground close by that has some available sites but I don't know anything about the campground.
