This is a really pretty shaded loop with many great campsites, some right on the water.

You can reserve a specific campsite using this link to the park’s reservation system:

Looking forward to meeting you folks also! I am in Site 19. I just read through your build, very nice! I love your spare tire idea and how you lowered the galley floor. See y'all then!

Thanks, Thomas,

I've seen that this gathering has been there before around the same time each year. What's the weather been like that time of year? Also, did I pick a decent spot with #10? All I'm looking for is reasonably level. But, then, that's what you do with the leftover scraps of lumber from your build - use 'em for leveling, right? I booked yesterday for just two nights (23-24), but I think I'll try to add another night or two. I was looking at the online photo gallery of the park and I think I want to stay for a bit longer. Now, if I can just convince the wife....

We haven't been there alot and last year was minimal because the pandemic was in full wake up mode with uncertain travel restrictions etc... We used to go Beavers Bend every year at the same time and did that for 11 years but stopped when they closed the loop for renovations. I don't know the loop by heart but I do remember all those sites by the waters edge were great. Our group usually has what we call the party site where people gather and play dominoes and sit by the fire together and do the pot luck, you never know where it will be until we get there. Weather? It's April which means it will be absolutely perfect with a strong chance of all **** breaking loose! Who knows, spring is always unpredictable!

That's the pull through Ken/Julie had last year. @ 1/3 the length of theirs, I may sublet 2/3 rds of it.

Ok y'all after years of lurking and such I will finally come out of hiding. Arriving the 22nd will be at site 16 for this one. Please don't throw sticks and stones. :worship: I bruise easy. Looking forward to meet ya. 8)

Look forward to meeting y'all. :applause:  :applause:

We too will be coming out of hiding. Haven't seen the group in a few years.

My plan is to camp in the teardrop since Tom and Linda will be there. They can see all the changes I have done to it like spray paint it all camo and lift it and put all terrain tires on it!! :tipsy:

-but seriously I will be bringing the Beatle!

OK, folks...unless you're a procrastinator like me (but I intend to do something about that next week!), it's time to start the logistical planning for the 4/23 meet. I'm ready to dust off my "pre-flight checklist" and begin getting things ready for the trip.

I presume Sat night of the gathering will be a potluck. I think we nailed it with the 10+ attendees at the Dec '20 Lake Floyd gathering with a balance of mains and sides. I guess that's why it's called a "potluck"...? Since we have around 25+/- for the LM-CC shindig, may I suggest we start a sign up sheet for dishes? If so, I'll kick things off by announcing we'll be bringing some Korean Chap Chae - it's a sweet potato noodle dish with meat and vegetables. As for the meat, it can be made with chicken or pork. If there are any in the group with an aversion to pork, we can make it with chicken. Or those offended by the porcine species can merely pick out the meat and give it to their partner/dog/etc. What say y'all?

Fishing FYI - TX State Parks have a rule that if fishing from shore or on the park piers within the park boundary, one does not have to have a fishing license. Just found out that OK does NOT have the same rule! I guess some might already know this, but thought I toss it out there to prevent any "unpleasantries" at the park.

I reserved and paid for a site (I think it is # 2 but will have to check) a couple of months ago but now am not going to be able to attend. It was the last one available then but I have not checked the current status.

Before I cancel am offering to transfer if that is possible under the OK reservation system.

Let me know by direct e-mail if anyone needs a site [email protected]
