Mounting a New LFP Battery Charger Without Factory Tabs

The charger I was using worked well except I had to manually select the lfp battery mode each time it lost power. It had a large useful display but that has gone out.

I purchased a new dedicated charger and it arrived the other day. Never came to me that it wouldn't have little tabs to use for mounting it

Looking for creative ideas on mounting it, no flat stock handy to make a strap bracket out of but I do heavy Guage aluminum wire I can fashion some straps with. I want it to stand off the wall some for maximum air flow.

All I can think of, ideas? It's in an aluminum case

Well, if it were me, I'd design a mount for it and send the file to my printer.

I have a 3d printer, maybe I should try that. It's been up for awhile, no filament and I really wanted a Friday night project lol

A foot of 1/16" aluminum angle from a big box store. And a couple holes. Use the existing end plate screws, to mount the angle to the case.

I thought something similar but didn't see any earlier when I was looking around, that's definitely the cleanest and most robust option. I just finished bracket 1 and came here to post and saw your post. Starting thinking maybe I had some corner trim left over from the camper build.... sure enough, I found about a foot of aluminum angle!

Here's what I was working on, would've been a robust option but not as clean.

I could come up with a snap in bracket or something. Found some angle so I'll do that. No worry of that breaking over time.

I spend 9 hours a day in front of a screen, 30 years ago I had fun tinkering with computers but since it became a career, I really enjoy the low tech endeavors as a hobby. Weird?

I'm glad you chimed in and I saw it. Caused me to go take another look through my scrap. Much cleaner and ready to mount up. Got a decent stand-off for air flow too.

Got it mounted will be much better than the old one. I think I'll build something to protect those cables, this side of the tongue is storage.

Testing the charger now, not done but I confirmed 9.99 Amp output, if I put a 3 Amp load on it while charging it'll continue pushing about 7 amps in the battery.

It's just a simple single light indicator for function. This charger is available in 10, 20, and 40 Amp version.
