This is my bike, a 1961 J C Higgins. I have all of the original pieces, the fenders, the tank and a headlight. It hung in the garage for 10 years then in a shed for 30 years. The handle bars and rims were rusty, so I took an S.O.S pad to them and shined them up, I also put new tubes and new tires on it and had it trued at a bike shop. There is 1 broken spoke that I didn't get fixed, when I was 3 my brother was riding me on the tank/bar and my left foot got caught in the spoke and fork. We crashed, and I had a mangled foot (for a 3 year old), missing some skin and a lot of bruising. I was told he cried more than me, he still get choked up talking about it. My brother lives in Houston, TX now and the last time he came to visit I took it into my dads for him to see and ride. He loved it and road it all over town and said "it sure is a nice ride and brought back a lot of memories".
