I just finished my first build. I was inspired by many threads on this forum and wanted to share and explain what I did. 5’ x 8’ aluminum custom built frame. Everything is made out of birch (Baltic) plywood and red oak for the timbers. Floor is a sandwich made of 1/4 ply/1.5”foam/ 1/4 ply. The roof is also a sandwich 1/8ply/1/8ply/1.5”foam/1/8 ply/1/8ply. The walls are 1 inch thick plywood. All the exterior is covered with 6 ounces woven fiberglass and clear epoxy resin. Outside paint is polyurethane, the exterior varnish is Epiphane marine varnish. All the inside is varnished with a polyurethane water based clear. All the hinges and latches are marine grade stainless steel. I put 2x 100watt solar panels with a mppt connected to a 100Ah Lithium battery and a 20A battery charger.
