I've used splines in slots cut with router and a wing cutter bit. That helps keep the edges aligned during glue up.

Hi Guys,

instead of building the Pod I build a brand new lake front cottage
Now the pod idea is coming back.

The idea is to use it as a snowmobile enclosed trailer in the winter and RC plane hauler in the summer.

Dimension would be 68 inc height 12 feet long in the vnose and 64 inch wide.
At 68inch height and 64 inch wide, do I need wood strip to reinforce it?
Note that I live in Quebec where there is a lot of snow in the winter, so the weight of the snow need to be considered.

Hello all

For the one that looked at my idea, I start the build thread. here
Multi-purpose Build started
Since the steel trailer that I did is already rusted I decided to do an aluminium trailer first.
Then I will do the Pod.

Question for the pod.
Since it will be used a lot for the snowmobile, I thought doing a pod without floor so that way, melted snow will evacuated through the utility trailer floor.
To attach the Pod I plan to run 4 bolt per side and one at the front through the aluminium channel that will secure a 2x2 at the base of the pod wall.

Any thought?

OK next winter will be the times That I will start the built.
Since the project shift with the construction of the aluminium trailer.
Here is with the help of perplexity the design.
Important design consideration
Since that will be used as snowmobile trailer the POD is mor a cap without floor. So melted snow can evacuate through floor.
The Cap will be bolted to the trailer frame with 12 bolts
wall 2x2 on 24inch CC with 1.5 inch foam
Roof curve spar 16 inch CC with 2inch foam
Inside 1/4 plywood for oups precaution during usage
Outside 1/8 plywood with PMF
I'm in quebec so snow load is important

What do you think?
Is that overbuilt?
