Pop Top Cans

It sure seems like every manufacture has jumped on the band wagon and is making their canned foods with pop tops. I find these to be a real pain. Not only can't you stack them, but even with lots of cushioning between, a good jostle will pop some of their seals.

Admittedly I do travel a lot of very rough roads, but I would rather carry my glass canning jars than the pop tops. With cushioning the glass jars do fine, and inevitably the pop tops pop!

Out of curiosity, have you tried carrying those pop top cans on their sides? If so, did that help?

You have a good point, and the same grill I have. And that is why I have a freezer with me too.

No, I haven't tried that. I'm not sure it will help. It will make more of a mess though.

I try not to include them at all, but sometimes at little country stores where I resupply, it maybe the only kind they have in something like tomato sauce etc.

I'd like to throw a caution out there to others so that you would check the seals on your cans carefully if you carry them in your food supplies.
