The biggest upgrade (money wise) was installing a Propex heater. I've spent too many cold mornings trying to get a Little Buddy heater to fire. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t. The heater is quiet and the hot air is nice and toasty. The Propex HS2000 fits perfectly in the utility space along the driver’s side wall, underneath the Murphy bed. I wished I could say that this was the original design, but since I had never heard of a Propex heater 5 years ago when I built this trailer, all I can say is that sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good. The ductwork is routed around the front driver’s side corner and into the main cabin. The space was too tight for the 3” duct to make the second bend into the cabin, so I built a small, rectangular box and used the 2 vents supplied with the heater to direct warm air into the cabin. My only concern with Propex is that heater comes with a 1/4” compression fitting for the gas connection. I ordered the 3/8” flared fitting for my gas connection.
Heater installed in front, driver's side corner. Drawers and Murphy bed have been removed for the installation.
Vent ports along front of trailer. That's an electrical shutoff switch in the upper right corner of this pic.
