I am building a squaredrop camper, flat roof but usually could set it up slightly head up so the water will run to the low end. The way my roof rack is designed it will keep water from running off the sides so it will all run to one end.
I have a few ideas to capture rain water and funnel it into a 5 gal container to be purified later. I have used tarps in the past but since the camper already has a large flat area to capture water this will be much easier.
The sloped roof will direct the water to one end, then a raised bit of material will will send it toward the center of the edge where it will fall into a small capture (funnel/gutter etc) then down a hose into the container. The idea is to keep the funnel rather sleek and small, I don't need an actual house gutter, with a removable hose.
My question is has anyone done this and do you have any tips or found any trick components that helped the build process?
Thx.
Darrell
