Recomended DIY paint for metal?

Hey everyone,

Starting to think about coating my trailer chasis and home made hinges and door latches.

I would prefer to stay away from powder coating, it will eventually chip and I'd like to be able to do my own spot repairs

I was going to use rustolium for everything and some silicone lubricants for metal-to-metal contact areas.

Anyone have any '10 years and no problems' solutions? Thanks!

I painted my 6 TD builds with Rust-Oluem spray cans and no problems. My #6 is 10 years old now and looking good . Danny

I like to roll on Rust-Olem over an acid-etch primer. It's quite durable.
