Dates have been secured for the 2025 Redwood Rendezvous in Pamplin Grove, Ca, near Carlotta. Save the dates September 11-16.
5th Annual Redwood Rendezvous registration is open! This year's event will take place Thursday, September 11 through Tuesday, September 16, at Pamplin Grove. Please note, this is a change back to September from last year’s August date. Price is the same as last year, $150/trailer regardless of # of occupants. We also need to reach 40 registrations in order to break even, so please help get the word out!
This event takes place at a group site/county park close to Carlotta, CA. This northern California, about 30 minutes south of Eureka. It is a gorgeous, ethereal place that must be seen to be appreciated. There is no other camping like camping deep in the tall trees.
We welcome all single-axle trailers and will be having lots of fun, including happy hour, pot lucks, an art class, cooking demonstration, bird watching, corn hole tournament, and more! See previous years’ posts for more information about the event. Feel free to DM me as well.
Registrations are fully refundable up to 90 days prior to the event, and 50% refundable up to 60 days prior to the event. Feel free to DM deb pontius with any questions. To register: https://www.tangledyogi.com/special-events

we have a Quick Question before we book... Are the Toilets Flush, or vault? is there running water? Showers gallery/image_page.php?album_id=4495&image_id=159228https://www.tnttt.com/gallery/image_page.php?album_id=4495&image_id=174440

The 4 toilets are vault. The last time I checked, the walls and floors were painted white inside, with large green vent tubes extending past the roofline. There are solar lights inside. The floors and toilets are cleaned daily and, surprisingly, not very smelly.
Running water is available in camp. Trash is usually emptied daily.
We have permission to use the showers available at the campground next door, Swimmers Delight, which is about a mile down the road.
The backside of both campgrounds abut the Van Duzen River. The campground is in a dedicated old growth Redwood forest. Part of the campground is down a small hill.
Our group reserves the entire campground once a year, so it is very private. There is a gate across the entrance and the combination to the padlock is given out closer to when everyone is gearing up to camp.

Take a look at some of the videos from previous years, imbedded in the comments of that posting and you'll get a better idea. Here's last year's video:

Sharon is correct. The campground is not individual sites, but rather a large, forested area where you can camp where you please. It is rustic, but beautiful. The toilets are vault and there is running water available on site (but not in the bathrooms) with multiple faucets throughout the campground. Showers are available down the road at Swimmer's Delight, but not directly on site. Bathrooms are stocked with hand sanitizer and cleaned daily by the campground staff. There is a cook shack in the communal cook area where there is hot water and large sink available. Here is a video of last year's event. https://youtu.be/5InS01rqh7Q

But the two vault toilets down-hill have a faucet located right outside them, which is very convenient! :)

New to teardropping or just want to go camping with some new teardrop friends deep in the redwoods of Northern California? Lucky for you there is a FABULOUS gathering near Carlotta, CA at Pamplin Grove, a County park. We welcome all teardrops and small, one axle trailers like TAB and Casita to Redwood Rendezvous, September 11-September 16. Check out this link for more information. Hope to see you there!

How many are registered now?
I do not know if my wife will let me drive that far. She now knows she can drive with trailer too. And if we take our time going up and back May be. That is the advantage of being retired.

We are excited to announce we are so close to full! Actually at 50 trailers, but there are always a few cancellations, so if you have been on the fence and find you can come, go ahead and register! The link will remain "live" as long as there is availability. We are so thrilled to have this big group of trailers. Looks to be an epic gathering.

I will ask my wife if we can go.
The first and last time we came to that. I had problems on the drive back, had to pull over a lot due to drowsiness. No problems driving up and my wife has since driven the SUV with the trailer and had no problems. So if we go, we will need to stop more enjoy the views and sleep more.
I think all the food I ate made me sleepier, Really really good food
We go camping in August. So will let you know.
Ron

Actually, Ron, although we had a full registration, there are always cancellations. Try the registration link. If it doesn’t work, send an email to [email protected]

RR is coming up in no time! This year we have a full house at a full 50 registrations. If you are registered, you should have received an email a couple of weeks ago with basic information. Look for a new email in the next week or so with final information. Look forward to meeting all of you and having a great time at the Redwoods.

Information from Caltrans:

"ROUTE 36 SLIDE RESPONSE UPDATE: Route 36 remains open to one-way traffic east of Swimmer’s Delight near Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park. On weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., traffic is released at the top of each hour, with an additional opening between 3 and 4 p.m. to help with school traffic. At all other times, including nights and weekends, travelers should expect delays of up to 30 minutes."

To my way of thinking, this means that the way to Swimmers Delight for a shower might be backed up at times. Also, I wouldn't advise taking Hwy 36 from I-5 to Pamplin as not only will you have a very curvy road, but also, you could come into a construction-backup delay. ...Just something to keep in mind.
