Redwood Rendezvous Aug 22-27-2024-registration OPEN!

4th Annual Redwood Rendezvous registration is open! This year's event will take place Thursday August 22 through Tuesday August 27 at Pamplin Grove. Please note this is a CHANGE from September to August due to date availability. Due to dramatic pricing increases by the Humboldt County Parks department, we will be charging $150/trailer regardless of # of occupants. We also need to reach 40 registrations in order to break even, so please help get the word out!

This event takes place at group site/county park close to Carlotta, CA. This northern California, about 30 minutes south of Eureka. It is a gorgeous, ethereal place that must be seen to be appreciated. There is no other camping like camping deep in the tall trees.

We welcome all single-axle trailers and will be having lots of fun, including happy hour, pot lucks, an art class, cooking demonstration, bird watching, cornhole tournament, and more! See previous years posts for more information about the event. Feel free to DM me as well.

Hey camping friends! The Redwood Rendezvous at Pamplin Grove is on tap for THIS August! There are two great Pamplin Grove events to choose from this year, so make your selection whether August or Septembers works best for you. Or attend both. We look forward to camping with those who choose to come to RR4. We have @ 40 trailers so far, so room for @ 10 more.

I am making my new trailer bare basics. Putting the doors on today, and skin on galley, repaint with a more water prof paint , and get plates.

After it is on the road I can start putting in a tung box with battery and slowly add power.

Fortuna weather is quite different from Pamplin Grove, site of the gathering. For a better idea of the Pamplin weather the nearest community is Carlotta CA. That forecast shows highs in the low 70s and lows in the low 50s for the rendezvous dates with little chance of rain.

I remember that when we went to camp at the grove some folks stayed at the park next door before and after the event.
Here is the info on that

Day-use area with access to Van Duzen River, trails, old-growth redwoods - $5 day-use fee
Swimmers Delight Campground(30 sites, first-come/first-serve, seven-night maximum, coin-operated showers)

Individual camping fee (Swimmers Delight): $30 per night and $15 per electrical hookup

They offered a shower there that we would drive or walk over to you just had to have a roll of quarters with you. Nice and hot, I assume it is still there?

in Carlotta, CA it will rain in the morning and clean every thing off for us.
Warmest will be 79 bu most days cooler
cools comfortable mostly in the 50's

I have not been camping sense 2014 should be interesting to see how things have changed at each of the camp sites.
Robots cooking eggs over an open fire, hoverboards to get back and forth to camp gatherings. Electric bikes floating across the water, And iPod's singing the good and oldies.
