Redwood Rendezvous Aug 22-27-2024-registration OPEN!

charcoal fires, contained, and wood fires in fire rings are allowed. Not recommended to go in the river, the algae is in bloom. Plan your bathing at Swimmer's delight instead. Note in your email that there is road contruction with one lane right at entrance to Pamplin grove, so be prepared. Otherwise, it is very much the same as you remember. It is possible to camp in the meadow.

Keep an eye on the weather! :rainy:

A renegade weather maker has broken off a storm cloud up north and is coming down to N. California for a freak storm in August.
Computer models are saying there will be showers off and on all day Friday.
The local (KRCR-Redding) weatherman is predicting half an inch of rain in the Eureka area Friday, with clear weather after that.

chance of RAIN on friday?? I will be heading out the door southbound from Washington in just a few 'minutes' = now don't be blaming me for that rain predicted on friday after I get there ...................

30Aug24 Update = made it back home - again going the long way around Seattle = to avoid it............... but now to answer the question I had been asked when there.... ??who?? drove the furthest from the event to get there??? was it the couple from San Deigo or me driving down from here in Washington? using my Goggle maps here = it was the San Deigo couple which showed it to be a 756mile drive getting there and my drive from here heading south would have been a 679mile drive (if I had used the 'most' direct route going though Seattle. = So San Deigo ""wins"" it for the furthest distance driven to the event............... 8) "take care - stay safe" hope to make it there again next year!!!!............ :applause:

not only did I get on the site, I got to the event. We saw people we had not seen in years.
The Camp Hosts were fun and friendly folk too.
They did a good job, Food as always was good. They should have shouted out for supplies needed for breakfast. They were using napkins to dry everything it was not until the weekend when I went for supplies, that I picked up paper towels ,
They had hot water ready for my hot chocolate every morning. Fun foods for breakfast supplied by hosts and guests. That generator made all the difference because the redwoods are so shady that solar was out except for the open area below on the far side of the camp area. I will try and process photo's soon :pictures:

Teardrop Nanny got dates crossed and entered this on Sept. event. Got you covered Joanie ;)

Just back from a wonderful time at the RR in beautiful Pamplin Grove. A BIG thank you to our event organizers and coordinators for providing us with such a wonderful camping experience (once again) in the Redwoods. There were lots of new friends made, catching up with returning ones, and just the right amount of variation in the weather to fully appreciate camping amongst those magnificent trees. We know and appreciate all the work that goes into making this camp out happen and also so we also say thanks to the park host, rangers, and support crew who kept things running smoothly. Good times, good food, good friends.....it's all about being together in the grEAT outdoors! Love from your Teardrop Nanny Joanie
:applause:  :applause:  :applause:
