Repainting Wheel Fender Paint Worn by Tarp

Hi Group!
you were so helpful with me mounting my batwing 2 years ago I have anothe question for ya. Over the winter the tarp that I used wore off the paint of my wheel fender. Is there a particular black paint I should use to repaint it? Obviously a paint that is used on metal like rustoleum. I have purchased a camper cover so hoping the soft lining will not rub over the season again. Thanks in advance.

Best result if you are picky about appearance would be to remove both fenders, sand them back to fair and solid, sealer coat any bare spots, prime and paint. That way they won't look touched up and are guaranteed to be the same uniform color. If appearances don't matter, scuff the offending area with an abrasive pad, spray can primer then paint. Original paint looks to be gloss or semi. I've had mixed results with rustoleum, but if you follow the instructions on the can, especially for prep and working atmospheric conditions, with a little practice you can get work quality results.
