RV Exit Window Opening Size for Window AC

This is AC related but not electrical. I want to replace a 22w x 15h slider with same size exit window so I can mount a window unit through it. What are the dimensions of the actual opening of that size window so I know if my window shaker will fit?

Correction for the original post. Looks like the factory window is 21w x 14h. So now I actually need to know if anyone makes an exit window that small. The smallest I could find was 22 x 15.

In Canada we have a CSA standard for Safety Requirements for RVs. I made a copy of Z240.0.2-99 from the university library a few years ago; not sure if it has changed since the '99 version, but I doubt this section will have seen much modification. The US standards are likely similar.

In Z240.0.2-99, clause 3.1 deals with "Exit Facilities", and 3.1.3 specifies the minimum size of an opening for an alternate exit must allow for an ellipse (i.e. panicked human torso) that is 610 mm x 432 mm (24 in x 17 in).

So, I'm guessing window manufacturers making egress windows will only make them the minimum size or larger to meet the standards in place.

Makes sense. Idon't need it for an exit, It is so that I can mount a window AC through it. Would like to find something that fits the existing footprint. Maybe I'll get lucky and find a hatch.

Are you sure those are not the same window/spec.

It may be nominal size versus measured size. Or a difference in how/where you are measuring your window, versus a factory cut sheet.

I'm not 100%. I am basing 21 x 14 by comparing windows measurements shown on Amazon. Outer edges of the factory windows are 22 x 15. But when I look at 22 x 15 windows on Amazon, it appears that 22 x 15 refers to the inner measurements for the actual size of the opening which means they would be about an inch too big in both directions.
