I have a Honda CRV rated for 1500 towing and I was thinking about buying a Meerkat micro-camper or building a similar styled one on my own, but preferably weighing much less so as to not burden the car as much.

Obviously the most significant limitation is the towing capacity of the CRV, and the Meerkat is about 1k lbs dry.

So, I have a few general questions I was seeking answers too without having to sift through all of the content on this site

1. Does anyone have experience towing a Meerkat with a Honda CRV? If so, how does your vehicle hold up over time?
2. Does anyone have experience building ultra-light walk-in micro campers. What are some good online resources for such a project? Or, if you have personal experience building these, what are the important things to consider?

Thanks for reading

Well, it looks like a CRV has a towing capacity of 1500 pounds, but check your owner's manual-it may vary per year or model. That's the place to start.

Not sure what a Meerkat is, but Alaska Tears (I believe out of Michigan now) builds a really nice and light camper using modern materials. Or at least he used to. His work impressed me.
