Side table hardware revisited

I know this has come up before (used the search function :) ). Some of the links are dead and some pictures are no longer active. I was hoping to come up with a easy way to attach my 3/4 inch thick ply side table to the side of my tear. I was hoping that someone may have an idea besides the extruded aluminum hardware made for this. I was hoping to run out to the local hardware store sometime tomorrow. Thanks in advance! Pictures of your creative mountings welcome!

...see if any of your local stores have "lift off" hinges...these split apart and can be used for mounting a side table...Camp-Inn sued to use something similar for there mounts...the down side is rigging a "lock" so they can't come apart while using...add an adjustable paint pole for the leg and you will be good to go.....

Ken,

If the table can be "left on" the side of the trailer, a plain old piano hinge works well (stainless steel is best, for no rust).

Funny you mention it - I just finished doing up the removable table for my TTT.

Here it is, in place inside the Overlander as it sits at present.

To hold it in place inside or out I used the classic 2-part aluminium extrusion that classic campers used - one part on the table, one on both the outside of the camper and the inside for the enclosed dining area.

I don't have the seller's name handy, but if you do a search of the site for table mounts it should show up (I found it here).

One really neat extensible leg idea I saw here was a crutch - didn't like the aluminium look though. I did mine from an old bentwood maple crutch - a flea-market special at $3/pair.

Stripped the finish, re-stained it to match the interior wood, and fitted it with a pivot/locking mechanism that is no more than some doweling, metal bar and two blocks of hardwood.
