Research solutions on the internet for the past several days has given me a few ideas.
1. Purchase an electric power source with sufficient reserve to run the current AC. The initial cost of such a system would have to be a minimum of 3,000 WH and have enough energy lift to start the AC’s compressor on each cycle of cooling. Problem there is the extra draw of reserve electrical WH and the time the AC will work before the battery source is depleted.
2. The physical size and weight of the electric power station will be rather large and too heavy to easily lift for traveling.
3. Finding a smaller BTU AC that is powered by 12 VDC with inverter technology that only uses the necessary amount of power to maintain a comfortable temperature inside the Teardrop is the first challenge to overcome. Secondly, what is the minimum amount of 12 VDC WH power reserve would be required to run such an AC unit overnight. Third, How much solar power would I need to recharge the required battery source during the day to run the AC each night?
4. My Vistabule has a 100 AH lithium FE battery and 200 Watts of solar panels so I have that to start with. I am thinking of purchasing a Buletti 300 Elite with two 200 watt solar panels. This combination will run a 12 volt DC Air conditioner with power in reserve.
5. Rigid offers a small 12 volt DC Air conditioner with inverter technology that produces 2,300 BTU which according to their calculations will cool the interior of a teardrop.
I am looking for feedback on proceeding with this concept. Thank you for your input.
