DAY 0:
Greeting to the community and thank you for the wealth of information within the forum.

After 2+ years of research and planning. We are on Day 0 of our build. Finally got a trailer frame that would fit our needs at a reasonable price.

Our project goal is to build a 5x8 tear and complete the build by the spring 2025. Living in the west side of the Cascades in Washington state means we have to be extra mindful of water and moisture issues. Especially because our build will be stored outside with some sort of fabric cover (aka: tarp). Our criteria is to build a durable light weight tear that would withstand the elements of the Pacific Northwest at a reasonable budget.

We hope to use this forum as a sounding board to validate our design decisions and tradeoffs. Soon we will start a build journal to document our progress. But first we need to start taking pictures of our newly acquired trailer.

Cheers,
Sandro.

Welcome and good luck! There's lots of pretty smart and helpful people here. Can't wait to follow your build thread.

Welcome to the forum.
Don’t know what part of western Washington you’re in but there is a vintage trailer gathering going on right now at the Linden fairgrounds Sept 3-9.
Might be a place you could get some ideas.
Good luck with your build.
:D Danny
