Hi Folks, Ned here, I was on here way back when (Ned
but lost access to my email account that I used to log on, simpler to just start over since it's been about 8 years since I was active. Lots of life changes, relocation, new love in my life, new job etc.
I'm currently driving semi, Dedicated account, home daily, so not a lot of spare time, but I still have the camping 'itch', no not poison ivy. My new love and I have a class C, which we haven't used in a couple of years, and honestly, it will be finding a new home. I have a really comfortable tow rig now, a 2023 Lightning which I affectionally call Storm, so the Foamie I intend to build will be Shadow.
I'm planning on at least a 6x14, possibly longer, built on a utility trailer... details tbd on the frame, but since I have a full size truck, I may as well go 'big'. I'm a fan of the wild goose, so I'm thinking of a queen bed in the nose, with doors on either side, and at the foot of the bed, will be an aisle with kitchen storage/counter on one side and a couch on the other. at the rear will be a shower on one side, and cassette toilet bathroom on the other, The roof will lift up from midway above the bed, for stand up use of the back section. The back wall will fold down for travel and have a single door .
I'll have modest fresh and grey water tanks, with an on demand water heater for use while at a campground. no Black tank, just the cassette for waste disposal. Electrical will be simple, I've already got a Ecoflow Delta 2 and expansion battery, plus folding solar panel, but will mount panels on the roof to feed the power station, not to mention the onboard power from the Lightning as well.
here I am picking up Storm back in January, couldn't be happier!
