I’m asking if anyone can share a recommendation for a 30 amp surge protector, manufacturer and model? Something in the $50 range. Thanks very much!
John

Without knowing your use specific case, I would note that a basic “surge only” protector for less than, say, $150, likely does not offer "EPO" (i.e., "Total Electrical Management."). Basic surge-only protectors look similar to the EPO type but do not protect equipment from low voltage or wiring faults.

Thanks for your comments, Featherlite. I’ve been reading up a bit on elex protectors trying to get a little educated. We have a Dometic fridge and a roof fan. That’s about it. But we’re always charging phones, computers and the like. No AC. So yes, I think I should maybe expect to pay a little more, like $150. Given this, can anyone suggest a model they’re happy with?

Good evening John,
The one I use is an onboard surge protector. I chose this one due to issues of "sticky fingers" running off with the exterior kind. I have had his one for almost six years and it has served me well. I especially like the fact it tells me what the exact voltage is coming in before I turn the breaker panel on.

It provides protection against voltage fluctuations, power surges, protection against over and under voltage, open ground and neutral, reverse polarity, mis-wired pedestal, accidental 120 V, surge failure, AC frequency issue, even indicates if a power failure occurred. I would definitely buy it again if I needed to. It is currently $125.

We have had a hard mounted Progressive Industries EMS that has caught two serious problems that I know of in 12+ years. I also check the post before plugging in. Yes I am a bit paranoid (you should see what I have in our house).
