Wow! Nicely done. What's the accuracy like?

Thanks, It's actually pretty accurate, but mostly just a blast to shoot! And for anyone who is concerned, it is a tax stamped SBR.

Made some side cases from scratch for my MC. ABS plate, aluminum angle and VHB tape.

Stuck them together with a walnut pommel (?)

Will make a sheath this weekend. And place the base of a 300WSM case on the other end of the handle
But in the meantime here it is with my other Peasant knife project..

Last summer my wife ran across an antique woodworker's bench that was a "get it out of here and it's your's" deal. Couldn't pass that up.

When it was made it had two vises which I think was rather common for them––one on the side and one on the end. The trouble was that one of the vises was missing. The wood female portion was still attached but no screw. Here's the original screw along with the one I made (It may look a little skinny, but trust me, it's within a sixteenth of being identical).

Here's the unthreaded blank I made with a hand-sawn thread guide cut in.

Here's the router jig I used to cut the threads. It had a sheet metal guide, set at the proper angle that the saw cut screwed into. It worked amazingly well.

It's amazing what one can do with a bit of planning (and Googling).

Here's the largest thing I've made so far:

16'x20' 2-story building with 6'x16' upstairs porch and 10'x20' lean-to. Took me about a year of evenings and Saturdays. I did about 95% of it alone, including setting the ridge beam I think 23' in the air. Built it entirely out of rough sawn lumber from the local sawmill. It's 500 feet down in the woods behind our old house. Unfortunately it was impossible to move, so it couldn't go with us when we moved.

I gotta find time to build another one at our new house, so I can park in our garage again!

Thanks. It was a lot of fun to build.

The interior is not too exciting, it was mainly just our storage building. I couldn't find any pictures of the interior after it was all done, but here's a few while I was still working on it.

View from halfway down the trail. My neighbors across the street from us never knew it was even there until I sold the place.

I can't find a picture on my phone of the upstairs after I was done with it, but I guess it was my man cave. That ugly floral loveseat in the pictures was up there (freebie from my grandmaw), and I built a knee wall around the stairwell and made a workbench desk over the top of it. That's where the TV sat, and an old computer.

I never insulated it or finished the interior walls. If we still lived there maybe I would have by now. We moved almost 4 years ago.

Here's my 8 ft boat I made out of one and a half sheets of lauan, on it's maiden voyage. I call it the SS Booger. I made the oars too.

Here's my latest project, besides the teardrop. My two uncles have been helping me on this one.

New 10'x20' front porch on our house. Still have to build the tapered square columns and railings and stain and paint. I built the 6' swing from scratch too, and the wife painted it.

2f59d5d85c436a456fdc46f3d7c5bb6c.jpg

New 10'x40' back porch too. Still have to trim it out, finish staining, put in balusters and screen it in.

e3f09d02eca150085184734adb60be6a.jpg

New metal roof, siding, and windows too

0a226d6f2c3ceea579b68d0b1c96d125.jpg

And redid the living room wall / woodstove area. There were windows where those doors are, they lead out to the back porch. I have the slate tile done, but I need to grout it. Going to put a copper heatshield on the ceiling (decorative). Also need to install the shelves I made, cut them out of a slab of walnut. The Pine in the picture was just there so I had something to work my tile around.

Lotsa talent & perseverance there brx017. Good on ya!

Thanks! Seems like I'm always biting off more than I can chew, but I eventually finish it... Usually. [GRINNING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

I'm the type of guy that gets excited and wants to start a new project EVERY TIME before I finish the last one.

My excuse to the wife for starting the teardrop before the house remodel is done is so I can take my time and have it done for next year, and pay as I go. She fell for it. [WINKING FACE]

Can I join in ?
my tear drop is just the latest in a long line of things that I have made but my biggest by far is my Lotus 7 style car

which took me more than four years to build from scratch :D
