Hello:

Considering building the wandertears Vaga or something similar. Would the following trailers like these be appropriate?

If not, what trailer frame kits would be good to get? Canadian suppliers preferred due to tariffs would be appreciated.

Thanks so much!

I would not recommend either the Marathon or Sterling. They are essentially the same trailer and have design flaws. I have the 4x8 Sterling. It is carrying a sub 550lb (250kg) foam teardrop. I replaced the bent tongue after a 1200 mile highway trip. That is just one of the design flaws I discovered while assembling the trailer. I would not purchase this model again, however, I will live with its limitations.

I can elaborate more but if you search "Stirling trailer" on tnttt you'll find some more discussions.

Depending on your intended use the Sterling or Marathon may fit your needs. I would suggest a very light teardrop build, highway travel only, and routine inspections of all fasteners/connections and tongue.

I can't help with Canadian sources of other trailers. The costco trailer looks very similar to a Northern Tool (US) offering. Not sure if is the same. If it is the same model it is a definite step up from the other two.

I have to second the above. They probably make a great trailer for picking up the odd supplies from Home Depot etc… but not for campers.

My tongue also bent quite badly on my first trip.
