So I am finally getting around to building my first square drop! Been scouring these forums for months. For weight savings, I decided to pick up this trailer:

I want to install larger rims and tires instead of the 12" ones that come with it. Was looking at going up to 14" wheels and tires. Dont need big ol 33's or anything. Just want to be able to go a little faster than 55mph, and have a little beefier tire.

Has anyone here done this on this trailer? Do I need to replace the axle with a wider Axle? The Hub face is 68.38. im not worried about the fenders since I will get some new fenders for it. Just dont want my tires to rub.

I'm studying exact same issue except I want brakes, so have to change axle. I think you can use same axle and hubs, just new rims and tires.

FWIW I used my trailer with NT wheels and tires when I moved, 1000 miles on interstates at interstate speeds. That was 6 years ago and still fine.

I'll be shopping E-Trailer, fwiw.

I bought 15 inch rims that are 5x4.5 bolt pattern and 225/75R15 rims from a local trailer shop. I’m going to paint the rims, so I should have the tires mounted and balanced in the next couple of weeks. I’ll most likely need spacers but I will keep you posted.

Finally got them painted and mounted. I used 1.5” wheel spacers and I have 1.25” of clearance from the frame.

Also, what spacers did you get? I bought some off amazon, and the reviews were mixed. I dont want my wheels flying off when Im going down the road.
