Hey Everybody,
I am in the process of building a trailer Tony style and I am curious as to how much welding of the attachment points is needed.
Currently I have welded each 2” side of the six tabs.
Has anyone welded the top seam or is that overkill?
Thanks

Thank you Tony, I appreciate your response. I am really enjoying your book and the process of building the teardrop.
I’ll definitely reach out with more questions, as I am sure I will have more.
Cheers!

I welded all around mine to keep water out. You could use auto body seam sealer, but it won't last forever.
One thing is guaranteed. Unless your welds are 100% air tight moisture WILL find a way in, weld so the lowest areas have a way for water to weep out.
My frame is box tubing and full welded. I drilled holes in the underside of each piece of tubing so I could run a cavity wax tube in it to coat the inside of the tubing to prevent rust.
