Hey Guys!!!! congrats on your new tug.... Welcome to the wacky world of AMC....It ain't just a world of the big 3! Doug

Need to put a 350 in that thing and really make it a nice puller Doug. Keep the hood down and no body will ever know. But don't throw away the stock engine. ;)

I do enjoy seeing tiny cars pulling tiny trailers out on the road, however rockhounding requires goiing thru some pretty tuff terrain, so I needed something a bit larger.

However, in the garage sits a 64 Econoline pickup with a 289 in the engine bay (project)[/img]

Dude....your wife looks a little young.... ;) Doug
That is another one of my projects. We have created clones of me and my wife to carry on after us. Be warned though, they are terribly messy, and cost a fortune in upkeep! 8)

pulling with a 2010 honda fit....41-46 mpg no trailer, 29-33 mpg pulling the trailer and looking rediculous doing it

My trailer weighs around 650lbs and I tow it with a 2.0 litre diesel Toyota Avensis station-wagon. I get around 48mpg while towing. With fuel at $7.50 per gallon, fuel economy is paramount.

I plan on towing either with this:

Or the avensis station wagon 2.2TD when the weather is bad

It depends on where I am going and who is going with me.If I go alone to a regular camp ground it will be my geo metro convertible, if I am going to an out of the way campsite, it will be the jeep. If the wife and son go it will be the mini van.

Honda CRV baby!

Putting a hitch on my Miata this spring so I can tow it with that as well. My tear is fairly light: 700 lbs.

I pull out TD with a 97 VW Passat TDI. The longest trip I have made with so far was a little over 6700 miles and we averaged 30 mpg for the trip. I would have put a pictures here of the car and theTD, but I haven't figured out to do that now with the new board.
