My teardrop was built to be pulled by my 53 F100, never been hooked to anything else in the 35K miles that it has been on the road.

I am towing a 5x7 LittleGuy with a Toyota Matrix , 5 speed. But I am hoping to upgrade in the near future to a V6 powered Toyota Venza. With a target of 2600 lbs (or less) for a bigger trailer.

So far, with my wife and grandaughter plus 3 bikes and other essential stuff the Matrix has worked really well and due to my cautious towing approach gas milage is hardly impacted at all. And the Littleguy trailer is very stable on the road.

Yes, gas milage and gas price is my biggest concern. I do not want a big jump in fuel cost to restrict my camping pleasure too severely. Nor do I wish to contribute too heavily to air pollution and oil depletion like those 5th wheel, hollidayins with the dually, HD pickups. (I want to visit the Grand Canyon and hope My grandaughter will take her kids.)

Slow, your observations seem right on. I need more lockable storage space, but want to retain some semblance of fuel economy.

Slow back several years ago I had a Chevy astro van we used it to sleep in as well as a tow for our pop-up.
I only drove it when we camped so it lasted a long long time.
now I have a 2001 ford f150 supercrew that I bought off a friend who had leased it.
I got the ford f150 in 2003 and I only drive it when pulling a camper or in the winter
when the snow is to deep for the ford Taurus.

I try to take care of anything I own as you know a little TLC goes a long way.

I pick up the new(er) Subaru Outback next Thursday H6 3.6R, had to match the trailer so it is white.

I'm thinking that a mini-van with a transmission cooler would fit the bill well .............

I LOVE my FJ. Right now towing the rental Little Guy. Very soon I hope the Benroy.

Most likely this, or whatever I replace it with:
Toyota---4Runner---1.jpg

It's a '95 Toyota 4Runner.

2001 Chevy Express 3500 15-passenger. I know, a little overkill; but that's what we've got.

2003 Ford Ranger with a four banger,,,,,my vacuum cleaner has more power but I guess that's what hazard lites are for...

2007 VW Beetle to pull my 4 wide no frills econo Little Guy.
Along with my 100 lb LabDane in the backseat.

I just got this a few months ago. April will be my first test towing my Teardrop. I expect it to do fine. Mileage will be another thing.
