Wyoming Walk the Winds July 5-9 2021

OK friends ,I have New Fork Lake group campground reserved for July 5 to 9.
Same place as before.
If you haven't been there check out previous years posts for pictures and directions.

Hopefully these dates and the Independence Day weekend will work out.
Otherwise I will be there by myself.

Thinking pretty much as before. Lotta relaxing and visiting.
Plan to see lots of friendly faces

My calendar shows this as Monday through Friday? No worries to me (right now) but the trick now will be where to camp out the 4th between here and there.

Yes, Monday thru Friday.
By midday first day of reservations most weekends were already booked.

Directions and map at recreation.gov
New Fork Lake group campground

If we were early in season, possibility of mud and snow squalls
Too late in season, possibility of smoke or snow squalls.

We have 5 days and 4 nights, if you can make it all great.
Part of it great.
If it won't work for you, maybe next time.

Fuel, groceries, touristy stuff available in Pinedale.
Water available at Pinedale Ranger Station.
Showers available at Pinedale Acquatic Center.
Depending on your provider, cellular service may or may not be available it campground.


Hope to see old friends and make new friends.

Thanks for getting us booked! Teardropping is good any day that ends in Y, i can't tell the difference between them anymore so just wanted to be sure i had my calendar right. Sounds like a perfect plan, but if my teardrop looks square please help me tip it back on it's wheels.

Hopeful but not positive on attendance. We have a new grandchild expected in Florida in June whom we will want to go meet.
Can't remember what part of June and how it will fit into our lives.

But we will sure put it on our calendar.

Thanks for setting this up. Not a real surprise that campgrounds are getting booked with covid still in full swing.
It's on my calendar. Me making the trip is still dependent on work projects. At this point its to early to tell.

Unpacking would have still been there when you got home. I've bene in my house 4 years now, still have plenty of stuff hiding in boxes, skipping camping won't ever fix that...

If you have not unpacked boxes in 2 years, you don't need whatever it is. Take them to Goodwill, they will unpack for you

I had a brief conversation with my boss yesterday with ideas how I can do this and work from the road. I’m optimistic about it.

Maybee..big maybee. Want to be there bad..need a huge stress break bad after the last 2 crazy years.....but it's up to God if I make it..i did license my teardop thursday...not sure were the desil mula for a 165 mile one way trip is coming from by july...but dying to sleep in a camp chair again under cool pine trees taking a break from worrying about life chatting and meeting new people dying to get back down the new fork river again..and I found were the locals in pinedale go down to fish from the bank on fremont lake last time in 2019 at my 7th walk the winds trip..the gal was cute who came walking up the hill from that spot on the lake with her black lab and fishing pole.wink....lots to do in pinedale folks way fun smallish gathering .old virus and poltics messed up a good thing last year which was due to a lot of fake misinformation in the media and bad poltics...we really have missed most of the pandemic out here in Wyoming which mostly was mild..and fake.. my local Indian reservation had most of it.while most of us gave up on wearing the crazy masks last fall...but I am hanging in there mula is way tight.the ecomeys still crazy fustrating and I am still home farming.. its
.crazy times. But pinedale is lots of fun each summer to get away from it all.lots to do there..great fishing..you got the moutain man museum in town.great food in Daniel plus the game and fish hatchery and ice cream in farson...major trail heads for big time hikers into the wind rivers.. pinedale is a major play town..world class fly fishing..i am still trying to remmber it all in my head...every one loves new forks for the quitness..wide open spaces and relaxation and mostly all we do at this gathering every year is meet and chat with folks for 3 days and sleep and relaxe..i will try to be there mula is way tight but it's in Gods hands..the campers licensed for real this year...even a four wheeler ride from the group site up to the upper camp ground and trail head is looking like heaven right now. I am way stressed out this winter...slow

Slow, I can completely understand the suckage of last year. I’m hoping we both can make it this time.

Kat and I have wanted to come for years, but with a move, new house, and then the virus thing, we haven't made it yet.
We think this year is the time, and are planning on coming up. Looking forward to it.
