Wyoming Walk the Winds July 5-9 2021

I would sure like to say for sure I will be there but everything with me is a big maybe these days. Out past two weeks is a big "I have no idea what I will have to do" and it is not work I can take time off. And the other times is how I feel. I will have to bring my Casita.

So don't plan on me.
:(

That's the way it sometimes goes.

I’ve been loosely following your updates, and hope you’re able to. I’d love to finally meet you. :)

Hope to see you again, Wolffarmer. :D
We had a Scamp so your Casita is welcome.

Be there or be square :D

Hi Will, I'm so sorry that I haven't let you know before this, but Ava and I will be attending Walk the Winds this year. Please let me know what I should bring, and I'm sure I will need to ask for directions three of four times,

Mary

:D Getting closer to July :D

Appears we will have some newbies this year so here are directions for them (you too Mary  )

U S 191 north from Pinedale 6 miles.

Turn right onto WY 352 toward town of Cora.

Take WY 352 14 1/2 miles (past Cora turnoff)

Bear right onto New Fork Lake Rd. ( County Rd. 162)

Co Rd 162 becomes Forest Service Rd 370730 upon entering Bridger-Teton Natl. Forest.

Go about another mile, past road to right.

Take next left to group area, just over the hill.

You can do it

If you cross small dam on lake outlet you went too far.

Looking forward to seeing you all :D

Be there or be square.

Thanks so much Will! Steve has given them to me so many times, I was embarrassed to ask again. I (we) are so looking forward to this gathering. Planning on heading to Oregon and Northern California after. I hope I can get some advice on that.

Yep. Doing a shakedown cruise right now. I’m near Eagar, AZ at the moment. Bummer that I can’t just head that way now.

Well, I have to call it. Life is pulling me a different way right now. Fingers crossed for next year.

Wife and I might try to make it, if there is still room. Took the tear out for it's maiden voyage to the Grand Canyon last week. Have a few things I need to adjust, but overall it did good. Are dogs allowed in the campground?

Ha! I laugh at your hundred degree heat! At least the humidity is low. It's getting hot here in central TX, but at least it's a sopping wet humid heat. If there's a burn ban this year, we can sit around the firepit and smell the wildfire smoke. Close enough. :sweaty:

I'm good to go, been looking forward to WTW since last year. Lots of last minute stuff needs doing, like a tire pressure sensor fault on the TV. The Bed & Breakfast has newly installed solar panels, renovation in the galley and a new temperature sensor for the TruckFridge. Galley still needs final putting back together.

Whatever it is, it must be *damn* important. Hope it works out. Wait'll next year.

JunkMan: There should be plenty of room, and your dog will have even more fun than you do. :D

Looking forward to it! My b'day is that Wednesday. :p Party on.

I just spoke with the Pinedale Ranger station. Starting July 1 they are in a stage 1 fire restriction. :(
Campfires are allowed in established fire pits in established camp areas.
We should be OK as the description of New Fork Lake group area includes a fire pit.
The ranger I spoke with didn't know if charcoal in established grills was allowed or not.
I will try to get clarification on that.
Propane and liquid fuel is acceptable.

There are showers in the forecast so hopefully restrictions will not get worse.
See you all in about 10 days :D

Thanks so much for the updates slowcowboy. I'm leaving tomorrow to head up there; I hope the fire bans are lifted in S Dakota as well as Wyoming.

Well, Kat and I had to make an unexpected 11-1/2 hour trip to New Mexico to watch their 8 year old while our youngest son and his wife went to have their baby. A few days turned into 3 weeks in the tear. So, right now we are recovering from that trip, and won't make it this year. Hope everyone that makes it has a good time. Maybe next year?

I have been on an extended camping trip and just got back. I found this posted on the Tear Jerker site.

Jessy from Tennessee and Pam from Co coming! :applause:

So add a couple more to the party. I hope you all have a great time.

:D Thanks, Woodbutcher.

Recieved reservation reminder e-mail this AM.

Only 1 week now :D

I just spoke with a nice lady at Pinedale ranger station. The area only recieved scattered showers. Very high fire danger :(
We can collect wood onsite and have a fire in the fire ring.
No charcoal :( :(
Once again I am bringing spray bottle, chain saw and accoutrements.

Be there or be square!
