Most camping reservations in Yosemite Valley are by lottery and tough to get well in advance. I’m about 150-miles out and recently grabbed a next day spot from a cancellation. Having the teardrop loaded helped us take-off quickly. Some spots are small, intended for tents or camper vans, but we could easily squeeze in (without awnings deployed). Prefer more remote areas, but being in the heart of Yosemite valley for sunrise is worth it to me.

As an aside, I recently installed a 30 lb 100 Amp-Hr Li-ion battery that went 3-days with only 20% used - better than the 90lb 170 A-Hr Deep Cycle Marine battery it replaced.

I’ve camped in Yosemite Valley about 50 times in my lifetime. We even got married in the stone geology hut at Glacier Point, what a view. Been on top of Half Dome 3 times. Having a teardrop makes it so much easier when you can only get a few days in one campsite, then you have to move to another. We’ve seen people with tents on their vehicle roof changing campsites.
Haven’t been back since 2019, need to go again.
Enjoy your time there it’s beautiful there.
:) Danny
