Carol,

So many of my hobbies involve an initial significant amount of cash and teardropping is definitely one of them. But the great thing about these hobbies is that once you get past that initial purchase the hobby becomes fairly inexpensive. As long as you are staying fairly close to home I find that camping with my tear is not that much more costly than staying home and it sure is more fun.

It doesn’t take a lot of money to have fun. I’m one of those guys that just went out and bought ONE Powerball ticket last week. I didn’t buy it to win big. I am realistic enough to understand I was throwing away money but for a couple of days I got to think about all those cool things I would be buying if the unthinkable did happen. I will never buy more than one ticket and it has to be worth at least 200 million for me to buy but dreaming is worth two bucks.

Glad you decided to join us. Sure beats staying at home and like buying one lottery ticket you get to think positive thoughts and dream positive dreams and I personally think attitude is what keeps us going.

Gary

Carol, I'm glad you and Sue are coming. Nothing lifts the spirit more then a stiff wind off the lake. :lol: I mean a campfire and a good meal with friends. It will be good to see you and this gathering is the start of a great year of camping for us all!

This gathering is shaping up nicely. Thanks Gary for the hard work. :applause: I hope we get some more campers to join us. Please remember if you are following this thread that you DO NOT have to own a Teardrop to come. Everyone is welcome no matter how you camp.

Just a note which is unrelated to our tiny trailers. Last night at 10:36 I became a grandfather for the second time. I now have a three year old grandson and a brand spanking new granddaughter named Emma Love. Emma is 9 lbs. 9 oz. Grandpa is doing well. :D

Thanks Doug, sure is nice to see you made it back on the forum. I've been checking the back pages to see who still didn't have their avatar up and running and it's great to see that everyone is apparently back. Only 9 more weeks and we will all be back camping at our annual event on a great lake. I've been checking the availability of the camp sites and it appears that the park is about half full at this time. Still several sites that are right next to our group but if your on the fence about coming I wouldn't wait to long as the Muggles seem to think we have the good spots and are filling in the sites closest to us.

2kirks put a 2 next to your 2012. We still have plenty of room for you. Site #5 would look great with your trailer sitting on it. 8)

You can register right here; http://wisconsinstateparks.reserveameri ... ampingSpot

Come on I know you want to. We have brats, eeeeeh? Not a good enough bribe? What if I upped it with an offer of shared cheese and alittle wine? :roll:

I hope to make it. We'll probably be a last minute decision though based on the forecast. I'd be bringing a 20 month old and we wouldnt have much to do if its gonna be cold outside.

That is why the shelter at KA is so important to us having a good time. It has saved a couple of our annual camping trips. Two large heated rooms can make a big difference and the bathrooms are flush and more importantly also heated. Keep watching the reservations site to see how full our loop is. I don't hink that we have had an event in which the loop is not totally full by the time our group has it's event. Every spot on the first loop is walking close to everyone else but we do tend to hang around the open field where we have all chosen to camp. Hope we see you there.

Pat has started the food signup for our Saturday breakfast and the potluck dinner. To find the thread just click here;

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=49282&p=918004#p918004

We will be camping sooner than you think. 55 degrees here today should just about melt the several inchs of snow that still exists. A good rain to get all the salt off the roads and I will be getting the trailer ready for another year's adventure.

I got a potluck sign-up thread going (separate thread). No big rush, but it's there when you are ready to think food (for me, that's pretty much any time :)
