Camping in the Midwest, including Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin & Kentucky. Also includes Buckeye, Hoosier and BlueGrass Tearjerker chapters

Postby jimmymc » Wed Jan 30, 2008 11:22 am

Hi all, Cheryl and I did get spot 87, and are looking forward to another great gathering. Bobhenry the McIntosh clan is from the small town of Commisky in southern Jennings county. McKinnon and Vanessa live right next door. Cheryl and I went to the park yesterday to check it out, it is a nice park and we should have a great time. See you all there.

I remember the dual teardrops as well. Looked like a train coming in, and a neat passage between them when set up. Very Cool! 8)

Has anyone extended an invitation to the surrounding state Tearjerkers? This could turn into the "premier" Midwest gathering each year. It would be great to see this become an event that draws people from many different places, every year. :vroom:

With everyone that's coming, we're going to need name tags. Hint, hint. I know we had some last year but we should have some for both the builder, and spouse or significant other. Scott, do you know of any place we could order some that would be more decorative and permanent than paper? Something we could reuse. I have to admit I am terrible when it comes to remembering names.

I'm terrible with names also, not to worry it's in the works 8)

For anyone bringing a spouse or significant other if you could give us heads up on names.

Jim,
Scott & I have gotcha covered on all counts.

There are eight teardroppers from surrounding states (Ohio, Illinois,Michigan) that have been invited. Most of them came to Turkey Run also. Not all have committed but I expect them to later.

As far as name tags go, Scott has been working on a TearJerkers (pin on) button that will will have available for everyone who attends the gathering. Image

The tags can be custom made with your name or your spouse's or both. Stay tuned for more info on the buttons.

Scott is also working on a "Banner". Stay tuned for that too.

We still need more pictures and info for the trading cards. They are only $.50 each (any quantity) and can be made up for the gathering.[/img]

Here you go the update We're up to 21 if I counted correct and it's still January. That has to be some kind of record  :applause: :applause: And only 2 sites booked by non Teardropers

We've got 6 left unbooked in the circle some of them you have to put tent in when reserving or it will look like there booked.

After the six there's plenty moving on down, I camped there a couple weeks back and I don't think tere's a bad site in the park

Sorry Bob someone unknown is in the site beside you but I'm sure they won't be strangers by Sunday.

Damn it ! non teardropper neighbors. My luck it'll be a big tall guy and I'll find him peaking in my lexan roof. Oh well I'm sure Vickie will have us feeding them It's a proven way to make friends.

She is still telling everyone she meets about the shivaree campout and the -15 wind chill. I think the old girl really enjoyed herself.

Come on folks step up and get booked we gotta keep them non teardroppers in the downtown section.

The buttons/name tags look great! The banner looks great! You guys are awesome! :applause: :applause: :applause:

There is going to be one very surprised camper in the circle. Maybe they will be converts by the end of the weekend. Converts not convics.

75 more days of tax season remaining. Then it's camping season.

If you aren't getting excited about this outing, then somethings wrong! These guys are going to great extremes! Well done, and keep the the good work! What can the rest of us peasants do to help?
The winter Shiveree didn't cure my cabin fever! It only made me want to go camping even the more! The vintage camping/fishing display is taking shape!

Scott & Bob.

Site 92 is still open I think. I actually tried to book this site a while back. When doing so I went through the entire process but backed out to take a look at the map again (to make sure) and when I returned it said booked and would not let me proceed. I really need to call them but at this point it is open unless someone was booking it at the same time withing a 1 minute time frame.
