ATTENTION CAMPERS COMING FROM THE NORTH!!!

If you intended on traveling down I-65 and getting off at Exit 55 (Jonesville / Hwy 11 S), Hwy 11 South will be CLOSED from 6:00 am Friday morning until 6:00 pm Sunday night according to notification from INDOT.

I hate to say it, but you will need to go to Exit 50 and travel West through Seymour on Hwy 50 unless you choose an alternate route. Be careful, it's very busy on Friday's especially in the afternoon. :fb

New start time for the fishing contest.
Instead of starting at 10:00am on Saturday, the new start time is 5:00 pm on Friday evening.
This will make it more fun for more people.
See you all soon.

Great Gathering. Fantastic weather and a beautiful campground.
We had (at last count) 33 campers. Some were new campers and others seasoned.

Congrats to Verna for winning Fishing contest. Thanks to all of the competitors for making a fun time.

I talked to a huge majority of people that stated Starve Hollow is one of the nicest venues that we have visited for a gathering. Thanks to all who attended. I camped here in my youth but it is better than I remember. Unusual cool weather for July in Indiana...no complaints here! We will select this facility again sometime!
And thanks to everyone on the compliments on the Sunshine Inn. It was our 3rd time out in it since completion, has performed beyond expectation, and Laura says it's a keeper.

I was surprise to, by the number of people who were asking about how to build, or where to buy. especially Paul ... I know a few prosecuting attorneys who ask less questions :).

I can't wait to see his finished project :)

I too, had a couple of builders who were in flow. One fellow asked me a question I had to stop an think long and hard about before I could answer. He asked "What is the one piece of advice you can give a fledgling builder"? I had to think a bit

But finally came up with " Just get it watertight and roadworthy and take it camping " I further explained not all campers camp the same. I pointed out I cook like crazy because I love to cook, while my neighbor Jeff has a bologna sandwich and a banana and enjoys the trails and seeing the sites. So just get your trailer campable and fine tune it as you find your camping style.

I noticed another gal frantically snapping pictures and motioned her over. I found out she was a staff member at the park in the main gate. I also learned she was snapping pics like crazy to get her daughter some photo info on the tiny trailers that had flooded the park. Her daughter happens to be a reporter for the Seymore Tribune so we might be in the paper yet. After the fact, but it's exposure to help us grow. I contacted the paper this morning with site info for tnttt and tearjerkers, my e mail address, and my phone number to help answer any questions that might arise. I only asked one favor an e copy of the article to post back to the two sites.

This park is a gem. I sat 15 feet from the lake and in the pre dawn twilight the light was just right to actually see the fish swimming by as if they were in a parade. 10 to 14 inch fish  It was a good thing the fisherpeople were still asleep they would have had a fit.

As we finished breakfast Sunday morning we witnessed a bald eagle as he/she circled the lake and dived to snag an unsuspecting fish for breakfast. It was breathtaking and a first for me even in all my years. I thanked Kurt and Dan for this selection personally and want to echo that sentiment once again. Thanks Guys for selecting this park.

Bob, I thought I saw a Bald Eagle, too...now I know I did! Thanks. Kurt and Dan, thanks for the prize of the traveling fishing rod--I'm keeping it with me for my travels. The fishing contest was fun. I loved Starve Hollow. Quiet and peaceful, truly lakeside sites, wonderful for bike riding and walking, a very homey feeling. Thanks to Dan and Kurt for the selection. Sharon and I will give you a report on Harmonie Park in September.

We all had a fantastic time. Especially loved being able to launch my kayak directly from the campsite.

I exposed my friends, Becky and Dustin, to the tiny trailer bug and hope they will build something soon.

3 blue gills, 1 catfish. My new screen room that I love, and the lake behind my site.
