Carie & I are in site 121 with our T@B and we have at least 3 other T@bber couples who look like will be attending also. I don't think two of them are subscribing to this site at this time, though. I will let you know what sites they pick. :)

Fantastic Alan. Bring them all.

I'll be down to play Horse shoes.

In fact, a horse shoe game would be a good idea.

Any one have a set of Horse shoes they could bring??

We finally decided on 135 for Vic and I nitrox junkie will land on 137 or 133 he will chime in shortley I imagine.

That center area is NEKED so bring your sun block ! but their sites are large.

145 143 141 139 137 135 133 131 are backed up to a heavy tree line blocking the evening sun and each have large trees to either side for shade. The sites are short but not a problem for our small trailers.

I had other pics but the camera is tired and taking a break so I will try again in the AM to cokes a few more pics out of it after it soakes up a few electrons to recharge.

My personal thoughts are that I am just not crazy about this park its is so open its more like a city park than a camp grounds. However the people make our gatherings not the park :D

Bob,

The real question is "what did Sadie and Thor think of the campground?" That's what really matters.

Rehabing "The Barn" for a/c starting today weather permitting. Gonna take a page from Tim Jones and tuck the unit under the trailer and duct it in.

Vickie passes out in high heat and becomes a mess so we have to take steps.

As for the kids , Sadie and Thor were at home on guard for burglars :)

The A/C add on is installed and being tested. Trailer was 82 inside at 1:15 when I turned on the 5,000 btu little window shaker. It's cold air discharge is directed into a 2" x 16" rectangular duct ( think periscope but upside down) that runs up the side of the barn and empties into a hole cut in under the gambrel overhang then goes inside.

I left the room make up air open to the outside this should keep the unit from short cycling, Maybe not quite as effecient as cooling the already cooled return air but I won't be paying any extra on my electric bill at the park :D

Since the unit is hidden in the shadow of the trailer tucked underneth it is in about as cool of a spot as it has been in its life time so maybe that will help it to not work so hard.

I am going to take 15 minute readings for this 1st hour and see what is happening.

I need some gasketing to plug a few leaks but it was blowing quite briskly when I fired it up so shouldn't take much tweeking.

Yes I will get pics and try and explain this science experiment !

Time for a reading........................ :)

The frontal discharge

15 minute report .... down from 82 to 70 degrees

relative humidity down from 70 to 65 percent

Gonna take this over to teardrop design thread and start one to keep from cluttering up this one.

Alan, keep them coming. Scott loves to do the maps for us (at least I think that's what he said). It's fun to watch it grow and I think it helps people make a committment after looking at all the fun loving tearjerkers on the map.

Bob, The 5000 btu unit should keep you comfortable in the barn. Imagine a 5000btu unit in my trailer  That's what I have and it's a great feeling to go camping since I put it in (about5 years ago).

I took the control box off the A/C unit and mounted it so I can activate and adjust it with my foot.
I've run mine in 100 degree heat but only on a setting of (less than 5) so it did'nt stop working. I really should put a small side cargo door on the rear side of the trailer near the A/C. Fresh air (or lack of it) can really screw up the operation.

Welcome to the 20th century :)

Camping will never be the same.

The Deepest spot in Lake Superior, the largest of the Great Lakes is 1,333 feet or about 222 fathoms. This profound depth could easily contain the entire 1,250' Empire State Building, even with a 50-foot-tall King Kong perched atop.
