Well, another successful trip is over. The weather on Thursday was challenging. Very windy and cold. Doug made us all a real tasty dinner and we crowded in to my shelter to eat. But Friday the weather turned out to be great. Warm and sunny with very little wind. The group headed off to Lincolns New Salem for lunch and site seeing. It was real nice just wandering around and talking and looking at how life was in the 1830's. You could sort of draw a comparison to our teardrop life style. They only had what they needed and when they left they took it with them, even their cabins in some cases!
We met some new people on Friday night. Lester, Tom and Glenn. Three brothers and their wives. Great people and a lot of fun to talk to. I sure hope to meet them all at future gatherings. It will give us a chance to see what new, (old) trailers they have. There seems to be a vintage trailer collection, (or addiction) going on there. But they have some great stuff and we sure like talking about them. A special thanks to Rob and Nancy for all the firewood. We had a couple great fires, and of course great food and conversation. Thanks again to all and "we will see ya round the fire"
