Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Hi Gary. First off, welcome to the site. The Galena gathering is all full. We only have enough space for 15. But there is the Palace Camp Ground only 1 mile away that can be used.
Here is the link. http://palacecampground.com/camping.html There are a few others that may go to the CG and then come and spend the day at the Farmhouse. I wish we could accommodate everyone at the house, but there is only so much room . Last time we had a gathering there we had 12 spaces. This time I bumped it up to try and get a few more in. We will have to see how it works. My concern is the size of the septic system . A group this size will give it a workout. Let us know if you are coming and we will try to coordinate with some of the others that were interested and we can get a satellite gathering over at the Palace CG.

Welcome Ed, please stop by and say hello, we would like to meet you. This is a good group. We will have another gathering in August, September and October. Check the dates in this thread and see if any dates work for you.

Hi All, I am ordering the meat for our Saturday Pot Luck in the next few days. What I NEED is a headcount

Yes, Juanita and I are registered at the Palace Camp Ground for Friday and Saturday June 13th and 14th. I spoke to the manager Kim who knew of no other people registering for this group. She suggested everyone give my name (Gary) and what you're there for so we can all be located together...I hope more of you will join us at our satelite camp site! I assume we should bring a dish to pass for Saturday's pot luck?

Galena Sleep Over .....

A few last minute notes and reminders.

If you are coming in on Thursday, and have not told me earlier, please post or PM me. Anyone that wants to can join us for dinner out at a local restaurant Thursday evening. If we don't know you are coming or that you want to come out for dinner with us we may not be there when you arrive.

There is plenty of firewood.

Water tanks/jugs can be filled at the house if you do not want the extra weight of hauling it.

There is a food sign up sheet that you can post to. Doug is roasting a pig on a rotisserie he made Saturday night for dinner. YUMMM!!!

I can get an electric drop to most of the sites. There are 4 that are definitely to far away. Bring a long cord for best results.

There are gnats, but I have not seen many mosquitoes yet....YAAAAY!!!

The house will be open for anything you need. There are Bathrooms upstairs and down. If you want to use the fridge or freezer, you are welcome.

The house is on septic, so we ask that you try and conserve water as much as possible.

There is so much to do in the Galena area, you will not be bored. If you have any questions let me know and I will try and answer them.

We had a great time 2 years ago at the Last Sleep over and we expect this one will be even better! See you all soon!!

I had hoped to make a quick run over to Galena one of the days this weekend to see all the different teardrops, but it is not going to happen.

I hope you've all been having a fun mosquito- and storm-free weekend.

Sorry you could not make it. The bugs were not too bad. The weather was perfect and we had several people stop by to visit and ask questions. Hope you can join us in the future.

Juanita and I had a fantastic time this past weekend at the farm house. Thank you Steve and Lisa for opening up your home to everybody and to Doug and all the assistant pig cookers for a great pig roast. It was very nice to meet so many wonderful people.

Hello, Sheila & Kevin here from extreme Southern IL. We are new to the site & new to teardrop camping. Would like to attend the Kickapoo Gathering in August but I cannot find where I can sign us up. Any help? Please.

Kickapoo State Recreation Area, 10906 Kickapoo Pk. Rd., Oakwood, Il. 61853. (near Danville Il.) Ph. 217 442-4915

Scuba Diving is permitted, in the parks 22 Deep Water Lakes, The Vermillion River runs through the park for you
folks who like to Canoe.

Reservations can be made starting: Feb. 8th 2014 at: http://www.reserveamerica.com/ Sites are $20.00 per Night.
Reserve in the ILLINI LOOP (zoom area 4) Sites 61 to 86, HOWEVER, Lets start at Site 75 (CLOSE TO SHOWERS)
and work our way out from there.

to open for making reservations. (http://www.reserveamerica.com) above that is the name of the Campground,
and all the pertinent info that you need, regarding what LOOP, and which sites we will be at. Site 84 just opened
up, Mark & Pat from Tennessee had to cancel.
