I am making a big pot of "Cowboy Beans". They were a big hit at Gilboa Quarry in Ohio this past fall. Hopefully you all will like them too.

I just thing it makes sense. It will give a good place to gather :coffee: out of the wind if it's a Snowing & Blowing. :snow

I am still supplying the turkey right? I assume I am and wondered if I can drop it by the shop on Monday when I am in Frankfort? Let me know.

The Deepest spot in Lake Superior, the largest of the Great Lakes is 1,333 feet or about 222 fathoms. This profound depth could easily contain the entire 1,250' Empire State Building, even with a 50-foot-tall King Kong perched atop.

Scott,
I just got of the phone with Bob H and he said to tell you to bring your deep fryer. He brought up all the goodies you fried up at Brown County.

Hi all, Sounds like we are all going to eat good. Jan is making a pot of chili and a dish of potatos she does really good. Just hope the weather holds for us to get over to meet all of you. We need a break from work, it has been a long winter and it isnt even half done. Been looking at the long term weather sites and found this one. Made me smile, Ha! http://www.theweatherwiz.com/forcast-usa.php
Hope they are right, I typed in cleveland and didnt like what it said.
Keep warm all. Erv

Good picture Jeff, either along the top or the bottom of the picture. Both are pretty tree protected. The out house is in the upper right corner, It will be a matter of who ever gets there first just picking a spot.

Erv our 10 day forecast says Thursday Sunny and 21/13, Friday partly Sun and 25-18, much warmer than last year.

I think we'll have no troubles. This is for Anderson though, you'll have to watch the weather closer to you.
Erv Are you planning on making the May Gathering?

Hope to Scott, The wife and I are going to try and wear out a set of tires this year if we can. Seems like we have not had any time together with everything going on in our lives for the last 20 years. Not that it was bad, the boys and work took up most of it, and they were good times. It is just turned into our time now. If the weather doesnt let us get over, we will see you all some time this year. We have a hard time staying out of the tear parked in the back yard. Sure does beat a tent. And we sure are enjoying this site. Do you guys ever come into Ohio to camp at some of the State parks here? We are going to try and hit the ones along the In. line too.

Haven't yet, hope to though. My wife is starting to get into camping now that we've got the Tear and we've got a few trips planned already this summer.
Stay tuned for details, we've got a Multi state gathering in the works for this summer at Chain o Lakes state park in North East IN.

Scott. There is a state park down by Columbus that has a heated bath house open all year that we would like to hit this winter. Dont think it is to far from Mounds. I will have to do a little looking and let you know. Jan is really into not sleeping on the ground. We have done a lot of winter camping in the tent, so with the tear it is like staying in a hotel. We both love to be outside and now that the two boys are grown and getting their own lives we are going to start camping again. Will your wife be making this trip to brave the cold. Jan is a little worried she will be the only woman there.

COLD!! This just in. This mornings forecast for next Tuesday and Wednesday ....are you ready for this....-4 degrees overnite!!! A major drop to say the least. Of course they are wrong on a regular basis! Could it be that it just might be colder than last year??? More apple pie!

Erv, I just wanted to know that your wife won't be the only one there. My wife Misty will be there. We are reallt looking forward to it, just a matter of time now, and packing. Doesn't sound like we're gonna go hungry either, but that's the way most of our gatherings go pretty much. And Dan I second that apple pie, I haven't had it yet but l'm sure I will this trip. Can't wait guys!!!!!!!! :worship:  8) :)

Boss announced a total layoff Tuesday so I spent Wednesday getting my ducks in a row to weather the unemployment storm.
( Don't tell Vickie yet ) So after moving $ around and floating a signature loan I went home to sulk.

So what's more appropriate than Alcohol !

SO................ The Apple pie is done and maturing in the back of the fridge. Subbed 1/2 cup light brown sugar for 1 of the two cups of white sugar and I have Vickie's vote she says it measures up to Raps. And yes the recipe really makes 1 1/2 gallon and just a fuzz over 2 more cups.

Girls !!!! Vickie is having 6 teeth cut out on the 14 th and still planning to make the trip. With good pain pills and Apple pie she won't care

Jeff's 10x20 heated party tent will be a big plus this year. Thank God Dan had the presence of mind to bring his easy up for a wind break last year or it would have been unbearable. The "08" shivaree was mine and Vic's maiden voyage in the tear and we were very poorly prepared but not this year. We camped out New years eve at 7 degrees and were snug so I am like Scott " OH SO READY"
