The attendance is the amount of "Registrations". This is not for the total attendance figure for "people".

Scott, if you were thinking that the guess was for total "people" you can get a second chance to guess.

The "Attendance guess" is for the number of trailers registered.

Just want to be sure everyone is guessing at the same thing.

oops, sorry  how 'bout 96

two more tears

Postby gipsey » Tue Jan 25, 2011 2:01 pm

Hi group, sounds like a great event. I'm Roger and the wife is Cindy we have been teardropping behind our streetrod since 1996 but have never had the time to attend an organized event. Our longest ever event was the summer of 98 when we attended all 11 NSRA events for a total summer of 24,500 miles. we plan on two nights this trip and have talked a friend , Paul , into bringing one of his tears. Our current tear is the seventh we have built and is probably the one we will bring ?
Excited to meet some new people and probably some old friends. Kurt the registrations and check gets mailed today for sites 80 and 81.
thanks Roger

Scott, thanks for the welcome. No, Yes and Maby but not in that order. the map tear has long been sold, should have kept it. The woody is in the shop but we have two backup streetrods, probably bring the 48 suburban. Our current build tear will be up for sale between now and july, but i build constantly so will have a back up tear.
I see from your current update that site 80 is taken, thats one of the two we had talked to Kurt about this morning. two togather will be fine if we can, if not two in the same area, if not two in the same loop !
thanks Roger

Roger, I sent you an email as soon as I got back home. Since my map wasn't available when we talked, I didn't realize that #80 was taken.

#81 & #82 are good sites also, so if those are OK I'll put you in those sites.

Sorry for the confusion.

 site 80's open number 80 in the guessing pool is taken.
If I'm wrong Kurt will have to update me on who's booked into number 80 as they sure come in fast.

Guessing numbers are going quick also, #'s 100 and 108 are gone also

As crazy as it sounds, Site #80 actually was taken by Carol Turner. Registration is on the way (sent yesterday) and I promised to hold it for her.
Haven't updated Scott yet since the registration process hasn't been completed.

So, this means that Roger will let me know if #81 & #82 are OK.

Wow, this is getting wild.

You know what I like? I like people who go camping. Whether it be a teardrop or a bigger trailer, they are all (I mean all) some of the nicest people that I have ever met.

When I camped as a kid, (with my Parents) my Mom always reminded me of this.

The response to this gathering is proof of the fact that Campers love to camp with others and that is the substance of the "Tearjerkers" movement.

People with "like interests" always find a way to communicate and enjoy each other's company.
Can you imagine that the pioneers who settled the country and who traveled together didn't have a common interest. They are resposible for some of the things we do today.

I love the outdoor camping experience and I know all of you enjoy it too. Otherwise we wouldn't have groups that band together, travel hundreds of miles, and join in the fun.

This is going to be, by far, the biggest gathering I've ever been involved in and we , the organizers, look forward to meeting each and every one of you.

As we continue to organize the gathering there will be many people involved who will set the tone (and the fun) of the gathering.

The supporting Directors, Co-Directors and Chapters that are involved will do our best to give you an enjoyable gathering.

I want to thank everyone who has signed up to this point and welcome anyone who wants to attend.

You can see from the posts on the forum that the excitement is building.

It won't be long until this event will be history so let's all enjoy the enthusiasm and excitement that we are enjoying right now.

Thanks to all for the support for the gathering. We all (the organizing Chapters) really appreciate it. :applause:

You said it Kurt! I started camping again after years of no-vacation work all the time livin' because my kids were missing out on all the great fun I was blessed to have when I was a kid.Every year Dad made sure we got to go on a camping trip to one of our favorite vacation spots. Since joining the forum My family and myself have met the best people. I am stoked about this Gathering because I am going to meet a lot more of the great people i've gotten to know on line in person! Thanks to all the people involved in planning this Gathering!

Please forgive the repeat but for those new to this thread........

I would like to remind everyone that this planned weekend the park will also be celebrating it's 95th anniversary and there will be a free concert on Saturday. There will be a lot of competition from the local camping crowd so although 6 months sound a long ways off this park will explode with reservations soon. Please don't be left out send in your reservation form to Kurt NOW !
