Question for those of you who have camped in th IN parks, how strict are they on the portable a/c units in the parks? Curious as that was on the list of prohibited things such as Guns!

That's a good question Cliff. Can't really say that I have ever seen anyone use one here but...people have brought everything form side tents, shower tents, window a/c units sitting on the ground, many coolers, on , and on ,! I can't really imagine anything being said about a portable a/c unit sitting outside ones camper. These campsites are really hidden from one another with trees so unles yours is very noisy, I mean like roaring...I don't think you will have a problem.

Thanks Dan that's what I was hoping to hear. Can't wait to meet you as I've enjoyed watching your builds on here over last several years.

Cliff

What kind of air conditioner set up do you have in mind?
I've often thought about trying to do something like that.

6 dozen reservations in 4-5 days

I am sure Kurt is correct some DNR guy or gal is scratching his/her head trying to figure out what the devil is going on.

Folks this will be a barn burner of a gathering!

Jump up and jump in before your favorite choice spot is snapped up.

( just a side note: There is really not a bad spot in this beautiful heavily shaded park )

I watched 2 years ago and felt so sorry for the 15 to 20 trailers who tried to reserve after the park was FULL FULL FULL.

Yes with not quite 200 sites and they were ALL gone.

DON'T WAIT reserve now. If your plans change and you are , God forbid, unable to attend someone will be more than happy to purchase your reservation.

I looked at loop B and its untouched so far. Not a single reservation. I''m curious what the site manager thinks when he/she/it gets the daily report for recent reservations...loop A and over 50%....weird. :)

I called the Park about 9:00 am today and let them know we were once again invading their park. I noticed a little excitement in the gals voice when she finally realized we were, in her words, the "tiny trailer people" . [ we try and invite the park staff to the pot luck dinner as good P.R. it must be working] !

They were most impressed with the thoughtfulness of all of the tiny trailer folk.
Last gathering they felt the park was cleaner when we left than when we arrived. Give testiment to the caliber of great folks we have in our group.

Bob, thanks for calling the Park. That was on my list for today, but since you already have done it, I'll not pester them.

You are right though, they were impressed by our group in 2011 and wished us a safe return. Well....here we come again.

The only issues e had were the enforcement of the 11:00pm "quiet time". A lot of people were still up and having fun well in to the night. Some noises (and voices) carry better than others but if the "Campground Hosts" don't hear them then it probably wouldn't matter much.

We all had fun and it was nice to hear that the Park officials gave us a "Thumbs Up" as far as the general activity of the Tearjerkers and other groups that camped in 2011.

I am kinda the unofficial P.R. guy for the Indiana tearjerkers. A home spun tongue in cheek award but I am still damn proud of it.

I arranged the television coverage of the last gathering that Dan and Kurt stared in

I have also gotten us on Across Indiana for a little tv spot

I have also instigated two newspaper articals about the tiny trailer activities and I intend to try and get us some more exposure again this year so it's just the Public Relations thing in motion.

Kurt, I'll be arriving Wednesday night (hopefully....or Thursday morning), and I'll be happy to help. While not much at moving tables, I can help with the welcome bags, clean-up detail and with general help. Sunny Day will tag along where ever I go.
