The Deepest spot in Lake Superior, the largest of the Great Lakes is 1,333 feet or about 222 fathoms. This profound depth could easily contain the entire 1,250' Empire State Building, even with a 50-foot-tall King Kong perched atop.

Sorry Jeff, nothing wrong with your trailer; it's awesome too.
The 42 counted were "traditional" teardrops. Dale Gilbert's son's rig was not counted either and there were some others.

I'm not one to dwell on the "traditional" teardrop vs cargo or other arrangements, but that was the 42 that were counted. Please don't cry. We're all there to have fun and that's exactly what we do.

I think the total was almost 50. Maybe that should be our goal.

Jeff you know you're one of us you've got a banner to prove it and you bring good food to the pitch in. And we Hoosiers know that food is what really matters.

Hello

Postby shortgmanp » Sat Apr 03, 2010 11:50 pm

My name is Greg  and my dad and I have been building a woody type teardrop. I am a nooby and will probably will be attending my first gathering with the Indiana chapter. I would like to know what to expect and if I need to be prepared for any events. I am planning on taking my tear on a couple of trial runs before this gathering. So I hope to have most of the bugs worked out. Fill free to recommend certain camp sites. Thank you much Greg P
I am a workaholic that loves a good challenge. It will also give my dad and me a good project to work on together. I plan on putting several miles on this teardrop, so I want to build it right.

Be very warey of those people at the east end of the campground.

We OOPS They have yappy dogs and tend to stay up late and have too much fun. They are located right beside a little babbeling brook that doesn't even respect the "quiet time" restrictions and babbles on all night long.

These campers hide in the trees and appear to not like basking in the direct sunlight.

But seriously................

With that cute little woody you will only be a stranger about 10 minutes.
Ol what's her name and I were instant members of the family on our 1st outing and that is the way it feel every gathering just like a family reunion.
The only serious competitive game occurs Sat night ( seeing who can eat the most) at the pitch in dinner :rofl2: You will have curious onlookers some are fellow tearjerkers but the funny ones are the civilians I go out of my way to get them to inspect just for the comedic value of their wide eyed amazement. I hope to have our "Across Indiana " segment to show as a short feature on movie night before the main feature.

Yes we have a mini drive in to match our mini motor homes. You ought to see the head snap as the "other" folk drive by and 45+/- folk are munching popcorn and setting in their lawn chairs at our mini drive-in no make that walk-in

Truely you will be very glad you joined us. This gathering we will be presenting door prizes to the lucky ones that are selected by a random drawing.

I, as a two year veteran of the group, am very proud of our chapter. Scott and Kurt work hard to keep things lite and entertaining and we continue our mission to visit every park in the state of Indiana. We have been active in civic parades and finally became TV stars

I will be on 77 ( one of the tree people ) please promise to look me up and we will take the inspection stroll around together if you would like.

Bob and Vickie Henry

P.S.Let us know what site you have selected with a quick post back here and Scott will get you on the map.

Hi Greg,

Some of the campers are boisterous movie stars, and the rest of us are just plain regular campers.

Once we all get together though, differences fade and we all get along just fine, since camping and small trailers are what brings us together.

If you show up with a trailer, you will find you have many new friends, even if you don't have a trailer, but have an interest in them, you will still have many new friends!

The sunshine in May feels pretty good, as it can still be chilly.

All are asked to bring a small inexpensive door prize, and we generally have at least one big potluck dinner where everyone brings or makes a dish to share (best food you'll ever find while camping! :picnic: ).

I look forward to having a look at your trailer!
Don't worry if it isn't finished or there are still a few bugs, no one will care.

:vroom:

Rob
Waiting for "someday" will leave you on your deathbed wondering why you didn't just rearrange your priorities and enjoy the time you had, instead of waiting for a "better" time to come along...

Hello Greg looks like you're getting some good info about gatherings, our gatherings are pretty laid back as Rob said. Generally a Movie Friday or Sat night. A pitch in at 6:00pm sat where everyone just gets together and visits and eats. The rest of the weekend is spent visiting and showing off our campers, and doing whatever interests you be it fishing hiking or whatever.

Here's the link to book we're in Springmill Elec. section 2
http://www.camp.in.gov

Here's what our section looks like lots of spots booked and many left to go.
Hop to see you there.
