Yes you will be allowed but just to let you know what you are missing out on......

Bob,

I am excited I am glad your in site 23 then I can learn more about the cast iron cooking. And sounds like it will be a really fun time with all the photos you posted of the event last year.

Becky, you'll enjoy the "Dutch Oven Seminar" on Saturday. Bob is the "man" when it comes to cast iron.

On another note:

I need to get a feel for how many people out there like to play games.

One specific game that we will have at the CRA gathering is "Corn Hole".

There will be several game boards around the park during the gathering but as an added feature, we'll also have a "Corn Hole Challenge" for all those who want to compete in the challenge.

The final rounds of the tournament will start Saturday and wrap up before the Pitch-in dinner on Saturday.

Please let us know if you want to play in the challenge.

BTW, there is a really special and exciting surprise for the winner. Details to come.

Verna, you'll like it. It's kinda' like horse shoes but a lot less dangerous.

We'll have a "sign up sheet" at the gathering.

That brings up a good subject. What do you plan to do while at the CRA 2013?

I'm arriving on Monday (July 22). I plan to do some hiking on the really great trails in the Park. Bike riding is a must and is great exercise. Hopefully, I'll get to the Riding stable to do some "horseback" this year.

I want to cook up some bread in the Dutch Oven so I can enjoy it for a day or two along with the other meals that are cooked in the DO.

Practice my guitar, listen to music and the radio as well as forcing myself to take a "snooze" in the early afternoon so I can last until the late night visiting is over.

As you know, I usually get up at dawn so I can enjoy "the whole day" but (as I get older and smarter) the "Afternoon snooze" feels really good.

If anyone can comment on some of the activities that they did in 2011, I'm sure those who are new to the park will benefit from the tips.

What are the plans of some of the other campers?

Bike riding around the campground (too much of a klutz to ride trails), I wouldn't mind hiking a few of the easier trails, corn hole  , visiting with all of the wonderful tnttt people  , and Bob Henry won't forgive me if I don't watch his DO cooking class

It always seems that I never get to see much of the State Parks, just the campground area. While the campground area is great, I'd like to see some of the sights that are mentioned in the State Park brochures.

I am getting so anxious....is it July yet?????

I think you might want to prepare yourself for a conversion. Cast iron cooking is a highly contagious disease!

That is SO right! I bought a small 8" oven, since there is only me. I now own a 10" and a 12" also. "oldragbaggers", if you want to borrow one of mine to experiment with, you are welcome to give it a try! I'll be in site 54!

Kurt I'm game for Corn hole and may even bring my boardsone TTU and other Ga in red/black! We're checking in on Wednesday and heading to Anderson, IN to visit my best friend and then come back later that night. Then we walk around with the pups and visit and cook a little and sometimes drive around and see the sites especially if there is any antique stores around.

Cliff

Thanks Mark, I want people to see what they missed if they didn't take advantage of the area in 2011. New campers will need to know these kinds of things in order to make the most fun out of the CRA 2013 experience.

I've got an idea, Bobhenry. How about I just eat at YOUR PLACE all weekend?? Man, that grub looks great.
Maybe you'll make a convert out of me though. That food looks pretty persuasive.

As far as activities for the weekend, we'll be bringing our bikes and hiking boots, would love to play cornhole, love afternoon naps, maybe some kayaking, and just looking forward to getting to know all our teardropper friends in person. Can't wait to see all the trailers up close that I've been looking at pictures of all this time. I'm really looking forward to this. Thank you Verna for mentioning it to me.

We'll probably leave Maryland a few days early and stop in KY on our way there to visit my friends and family in Covington.
    Life is sooooo good.........

      You're very welcome!!!

OK, everyone, I've wanted to canoe on a river for a while. But, who wants to canoe with someone who uses a kayak to fish from, but who has never canoed (is that a word??) on a river? Any volunteers?

      Hey Kurt :

Has there been any mention of the "yard sale" I never made it up there in 2011 but I think it was a hugh success. I have a bunch of camping gear, some build goodies, and xtra cast iron that all need a home.
