It is probably a liability issue as there is no lifeguard and the human desire to gulp down a red devil lure that might be spinning through the water nearby could create a problem for the fisherman trying to net him. It is the same way at Rock-Cut SP but of course my brother and I strangly seemed to tip our conoe over on those warm summer days when we were younger.

 ha . . . you are probably correct. Can you tell I spent way too much time trapped out on the left coast ? My brain may be damaged.

They are so hard up for water out there that most of the small recreational lakes are not fun at all any more. They specify "no body contact" with the water due to health issues. That means no "open" water craft, skiing, tubing, jet ski's etc. Dogs are restricted to 50 ft from shoreline.

Boat owners are always confused - four-stroke or direct fuel injection two-stroke is Ok but only if they comply with the Air Resources Control Board standard. Old style carbureted two-stroke is not allowed.

Lately they have also banned "out of state" fuel because of the MTBE.

It's pretty sad.

Rick -

I mailed mine out today and left the campsite choice blank for you to fill in.

Also hope to have my "other half" with me (Christine); she's asked for the time off work and should know soon.

Thanks again -

Mike

Cheryl, Glad to hear you and Alan will be able to make it. A vintage trailer is a must at a gathering. :applause:

Except for Alan & Cheryl, I now have all of the registrations from the original group.

Right now I have a hole in my schedule on Friday so I may take off and head on over to drop them off at the park.

Heh, we may be tent camping if we don't get some more done on the TD! Been a slow process the last few days, blew my back out last week.

Well, you may have good company...We loaned our personal teardrop to my parents for a trip back to New England and I'm not sure if they will be back in time. Then both our rentals may already be booked for that weekend...

Oh well, we were tenters for many years before we were teardroppers...

Well my schedule for today got filled :( I'm not sure if they're open tomorrow (camp station) but I'll call and find out. If they are we'll head out and get the sites tomorrow.

Reservations dropped off.

Sites:

86 - mrchuc - Denise & Chuc (Sat. Only)
87 - Claw - Jim
88 - Flygal6 - Carol & Diane
89 - Route66 - Mike & Christine
90 - Betsey - Betsey & Craig
91 - Pigcooker - Doug & Nan
92 - SaGR - Rick & Dayna
93 - donkro - Don (Fri. Only)

The one nighters are on the end sites so nobody has to move.

I didn't see anything from Alan & Cheryl in the mail. Did you make reservations directly?

Route66 (1141) and Betsey (4640) - overpaid. The park adjusted the checks to $25.00 (deposit amount only - you both wrote for $45).

Great Job Rick :applause:

This should be a good time. There is still plenty of time for others to make reservations through the IL DNR site or join us at the park.

Thanks for your lead on this Rick.

You're welcome guys (gals). 8)

Yep the dates are pushing close!

As for the TD, I was down for a week due to my back, been working a lot of extra time and other commitments that are slowing any real progress. The walls framed and insulated and hopefully we'll be setting them up this weekend.

As for the wedding... lots of time is lost here. Arranging a BBQ the day before, the wedding itself (Sept 15th) and a breakfast the day after. All for 150+/- people. Fun stuff! Not! ;)

At the current rate we'll be sleeping in a "closed in" TD and that's about it.
