Hey Guys,
Being born in Indiana and having left at the age of 8 yrs old, I have never been back. My parents are buried in Frankfort and a trip to the old homeland has been a long time coming. I was born in Kokomo and left In. from Logansport to go live in Louisiana. Now I live in Summersville, Wv. which is about a 7 1/2 hr ride to McCormick State Park as Map Quest says. If all goes well from now til the 17 th I plan on coming back to my homeland. I hope to see you then or maybe later in the year if I can swing the Spring gathering. til later John T.

hey bobhenry,
no, I'd like to come back to visit. Do you know anyone in Frankfort with the last name of Hodgen? I have lost touch with that side of my family. My brother Jerry Bert Hodgen lives in Louisiana but we have no idea of our other members in Indiana. I'd like to see if anyone there remembers us from when our mother(Martha) died in 1962?. anyway thanks for your response, My girl and I are toying with the idea of hosting a gathering here in Summersville,Wv. on her 80 acre farm, more thought on that later. thanks for any info that you may have--John T. (Tom)as my family may remember me, our father was John Whiteman/Whitehead Hodgen.

Glad to hear you might make it John, The more the marrier, or should I say the more the more fire wood for a bigger fire

Just for an update We are going with Mounds State park on the east side, so that will cut some time off for you John.

I went this weekend and checked out the campground not real big but clean and there's a couple spots where the sites are set into the trees. It's $11 a night payable when you arrive, they don't take reservations. The Pit toilets are open and they look a lot more closed in than brown county. And they have one frost free water spigot.

So there you Jan 17th for those that want to test out how well there camper heats in the winter

And if it gets to cold there's a casino right there in Anderson we could go to warm up 8)

Weather permitting, that means assuming we are not in the middle of the great blizzard of 2009, I would go down on Friday if anyone else is brave (or dumb) enough to be there. Otherwise I'll get there early Saturday.

Emerald ash borer or not I'm bringing wood. Lots of wood. And my buddy Jack Daniels.

I may also make a side trip to the casino to do some investing. I figure it can't be any worse than the stock market and I won't lose nearly as much.

Weather and babysitter permitting I'd be willing to go on Friday.
I probably won't know that for sure until that week. But we won't know the weather situation until then anyway.

Amy even said I could have $20 to go to the casino if we make a side trip
 She's so cute

Yeah we can make a last minute decision on the Friday thing. That time of year anything can happen.
